A cruel white dragon had brought the Great Cold to the villages of the Kingdom. Yldur, with a terrible blow from Nailplanter, the war hammer of the Mountain Giants, caused an avalanche, locking the dragon forever in an ice prison. Yldur also remained buried under the snow.

She saved the eggs of the magical eagles of the sacred peaks from winged serpents from an evil plane of existence. Striking the last deadly blow to the last of the snakes, Hrubin slipped into a cliff and she was never found.

Rodior, the Swordmaster

Exploring the deadly endless dungeon beneath the valley's highest mountain, Rodior unearthed the legendary ice sword called Light Horizon. The glow of its blade made him blind forever, but thanks to that sword Queen Elodia defeated the armies of the usurper Edenon.

Thool, the Bonescrusher

In the time of the bloody clashes between the Elven tribes, Thool saved the life of Princess Elodia by stopping a horde of skeleton warriors sent by the usurper Edenon to kill her. Urvenaim sacrificed himself by luring the enemies into an abyss. Elodia would later become the elf queen who would restore peace to the valley.

Leth, the Icebreaker

She saved villagers from a terrible epidemic of magic origin by giving them the sacred snowdrop that grows only atop the valley's highest and most inaccessible peaks. Leth entrusted the snowdrop to a silver eagle and exhausted from climbing the highest peak fainted from exhaustion, freezing to death in the embrace of the snow.

Xion, the Wanderer

A demigoddess of the snow nymph people was hibernated in an ice prison as punishment for loving a mortal spirit. Xion took pity on her and freed her despite knowing that doing so would draw a curse upon himself: that of being forced to wander forever in the valley without ever being able to leave.

Arlinda, the Savior

Wandering in the valley he came across a Pegasus wounded by saber-toothed tigers. Arlinda nursed and cared for the Pegasus for many days so that it would be able to fly again. When the magical creature was ready to fly again by then, the tigers returned. Arlinda defended the creature to the bitter end, killing all the tigers, but the wounds he sustained in the encounter were fatal to her. The Pegasus watched over Arlinda until her death, then resumed the road to heaven.

Guillem, the Bard

The epic-religious poem ..... ("The Last Verse" in the language of the hobbits of Hawk Peak) is by all considered a sacred and revered text, the highest expression of poetry and knowledge. Its author, Guillem the Bard wrote it on his return from the Valley, in a frenzy over what he had discovered there. After writing the poem's last verse, Guillem took his own life.

Rosena, the Spiderslayer

A spider-vampire named Uvul wrapped the moonlight in his web, plunging the Valley into total darkness. Rosena caught Uvul by surprise in his lair in the mountains and thrust the blade of her dagger between the spider-vampire's six eyes. Uvul perished, but Rosena, however, remained trapped in the spider’s web forever.

Qillow, the Lightbearer

Stony Beard, a mockingly powerful wizard trapped the starlight under the eternally frozen surface of the lake of the Secret Pass; Qillov, with a blow of Rusty Fist, the iron mace from the infernal Goblin forges broke the thick blanket of ice finally releasing the starlight. He was, however, mortally swallowed by the icy waters of the lake.
